Scheduled for May 2025, final dates TBD.
Participating in the 5th Grade Science Camp is a pivotal aspect of our curriculum, offering students a hands-on learning experience that goes beyond traditional academics. This immersive adventure takes place annually in May at the Exploring New Horizons Outdoor School at Sempervirens, allowing students to explore the Oak and Redwood Forests and delve into ocean tide pools. Beyond academic enrichment, the camp fosters the development of essential life skills such as teamwork, self-esteem, and social responsibility. However, the success of this transformative experience hinges on timely financial contributions from parents.
To ensure the continuity of the Science Camp program, parents are urged to pay the fair share amount per student by the deadline noted by the 5th grade teachers. This contribution covers lodging, food, counseling, and guidance from naturalists. Notably, the PPIE is graciously covering the round trip cost of buses, saving each student $50 or more in transportation costs. In the event of financial constraints, parents are encouraged to reach out to the PFC treasurer at treasurer@lydiksenpfc.org for assistance. Your support in meeting this financial commitment will play a vital role in securing this invaluable educational experience for every 5th-grade student.
